Childrens University

Looe Primary Academy works closely with the Children’s University to encourage our pupils to try new experiences, develop new interests and acquire new skills.

The Children's University (CU) Trust is a charitable trust that provides 7 to 14 year olds (and 5 to 6 year olds with their families) with exciting and innovative learning activities and experiences outside normal school hours. The scheme celebrates achievement and rewards participation. Raising children's aspirations is key and the scheme aims to develop the understanding that learning can be "...a satellite navigation system to better places in life…".

Children's University experiences at Looe Primary

We have already had some wonderful experiences since joining the Children's University. This week we have taken the children in Year 3 to Plymouth University to take part in a Medical Workshop and the children in Year 4 and 4/5 have taken part in a Literacy Writing workshop with a group of student ambassadors and author David Lawrence.
